My 2003 Triumph Bonneville America
In 2002, the Triumph motorcyle company introduced a new bike - the Bonneville America.
Based on the classic Bonneville marque, Triumph adapted the design to the american cruiser
market by sharpening the angle of the forks, dropping the height, and adding overall length
to the machine. Without doubt, Triumph had succeeded in making one of the most stylish motorcycles
of the 21st century. The Bonneville America manages to have both a classical and modern appearance.

In 2003, after buying a Triumph baseball hat in 2002, yours truly made the mistake of
actually going into his local dealers and sitting on the America. Big mistake. Big. Huge. At that point,
he said "It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine." Two weeks later - on July 25th at 6:00 pm
to be precise - he rode off into the sunset to start a new life. Well, actually, he rode east on
Route 60 towards the Ponderosa Steak House in Alliance, OH, where he was so excited that he
couldn't eat his steak tips and had to take them home in a doggy bag for supper.
So if you see one of these bikes out on the road with an Ohio license plate that reads
"GQ GUY," give me a wave or offer to buy me a drink! And if you can spot the two movie references in
the preceding text, let me know - no prize, just the
satisfaction of being right.
