As an example, consider the word “danger.” Inspection of the Core Vocabulary shows that the word is not available – it is not a very high frequency word. So, by pressing the SPELL key, the next screen consists of two rows of high frequency “D” words, but again, this doesn’t included “danger.” Pressing the letters “d-a” results in the word appearing in the Word Prediction window and it can therefore be selected. Note that after selecting it, the Word Prediction window also gives the option to choose other derivatives of “danger” – “dangers,” “dangerous,” and “dangerously.”
