Notes:
RS232: This output option requires a physical connection between the device and a computer. One end of the cable has to be a 9-pin DIN to connect to the device; the other must be able to connect to a serial port (comm. port) on the computer. If the computer only has USB ports, then a Serial/USB adaptor is needed.
Infrared: This allows a wireless link provided the computer has a PRC Infra-Red Receiver box attached to the serial port. The Vantage and Pathfinder have built-in IR capabilities to send (and receive) IR data.
IrDA: Some printers use a special type of infra-red called IrDA. If your printer has an IrDA receiver built into it, then you can send data from your device firectly to it using this output option. There may be some limitations with the external device. For example, some printers have problems with line feeds that can’t be fixed.
