Notes:
Logging data is an automatic process. Once data logging has been turned on, subsequent key strokes are recorded into a buffer and held until the “Send Data Log to Computer” key is used.
In order to do this, the device’s output has to be turned on and set. The OUTPUT MENU is in the Toolbox. The parameters available are as follows:
Determines whether data is sent to the output port or not.
Output Mode: Immediate/Delayed
The former send a keystroke to a computer the moment it is activated on the device; the latter waits until a number of keys have been
pressed (about 40 characters) before sending to the computer. Immediate is the usual preferred setting.
Turning this ON slows down the rate at which keystrokes are sent to the computer. Use the ON if you are having problems sending
long text streams (e.g. long sentences) to the computer. Typically, it is OFF.
Baud Rate: 300/1200/2400/4800/9600/19200/38400/57600
Speed at which data is transferred. Must match the baud rate setting for the keyboard emulation software.
Output Method: RS232/Infrared/IrDA
Determines HOW information gets from the device to a computer, or other external device.
Used with printers if the printer doesn’t automatically add lines after a carriage return.
