The original presentation on the topic of “The AAC Service Delivery Process” was given at the California Speech-Hearing Association annual conference on Friday22nd March, 2002.
Panel members discussed the critical components of the AAC Service Delivery process. Participants learned to conduct components of an AAC assessment and recognize the variables (client, partner, environment and technology) that influence functional long-term use of AAC.
The Manufacturers’ role is also a significant part of the process, especially since any technology provided as part of an AAC system is likely to be supported over a period of time.
