Singing Using Notebooks

A song written for the Pathfinder is really just a special kind of Notebook. Like a regular Notebook, it contains lots of text. The difference is that the text is special coding for making music.

You can load a song Notebook using the NOTEBOOK MENU in your Pathfinder. Make sure you have the MTI software and cable connected nefore you try this.

When you select the "Load Notebook From Disk" you will be prompted to give the new Notebook a name; anything up to 13 characters is OK. For example, the "Happy Birthday" notebook could be called "Birthday."

The Notebook/Song is now stored in the Pathfinder. The next step is to be able to sing the song!

1. Clear the display.
2. Press the STORE key.
3. Choose the icons under which you want to store the song.
4. Choose OK either on the keyboard or the screen.
5. Select 'Type of Message,' to choose 'Synthesized.'
6. Choose 'Spell Text for Message.'
7. Type in the message. If you want to insert a special tool, choose 'Insert Tool' and then 'More Items' until you see <SPEAK-NOTEBOOK>.
8. You will be shown the NOTEBOOK MENU screen to choose the Notebook you want, in this case, the song.
