Reset the Pathfinder
Quantum Physicists will tell you that at the quantum level, things just
happen that you can't predict. Chaos is the order of the day. And you
may find yourself the victim of a quantum jump that crashes your Pathfinder.
But don't panic! There are a couple of things you can try that may resurrect
your little friend.
1. If your unit is locked-up and still ON:
Try a 2-button reset: Select TOOLS key and keep your finger on it
while pressing the I/O button (on/off). Release both and then try the
I/O button again to turn the unit back on.
If a reset happened, at the bottom of the screen you should see "Prentke
Romich Company < a date > jump to existing image."
2. If the 2-button reset doesn't work:
Try a 4-button reset: Select TOOLS, STATUS and USER-DEFINABLE keys
and hold them down as you press the I/O key. Then release all the keys
and try the I/O key to turn it back on again.
If a reset happened, at the bottom of the screen you should see "Prentke
Romich Company < a date > jump to existing image."
If these techniques fail, call PRC at 1-800-262-1990 and talk to the
Service folks. They may need to take the Pathfinder in for surgery.
