Using Pathfinder with the IRR

Step 1: Set Up Your Computer

1. Click on your START menu, go to SETTINGS and then CONTROL PANEL.

2. Double-click on the ACCESSIBILITY option.

3. Choose the GENERAL TAB.

4. Check off the box at SERIAL KEYS.

5. Set the BAUD RATE to 1200.

6. Select the Comm Port as the one you intend to use for Computer Emulation.

7. Select APPLY to set the changes.

8. Shut down your computer.

9. Connect your IRR device to the port youhave just chosen.


Step 2: Set Up Your Pathfinder

1. Go to the TOOLBOX and choose USER AREA MENU.

2. Select COMPUTER ACCESS

3. Set the COMPUTER TYPE to PC.

4. Select CALIBRATE MOUSE and folow the instructions on the display.

5. When the mouse is as far into the lower right corner as you can take it, select the OK button.

6. Select OK twice to leave the menu.

7. Go back into the TOOLBOX and select the OUTPUT MENU.

8. Select OUTPUT METHOD to get to "Infrared."

9. Set OUTPUT to ON, OUTPUT MODE to IMMEDIATE, and BAUD RATE to 1200.

10. Hit OK to get out of the menu.


Step 3: Set Up the IRR Box

1. Turn the box over to set the buttons.

2. All buttons A,B,C and D should be OUT.

3. Connect you IRR Box to a power outlet using the battery charger.


Making It Happen

1. Turn you computer back on and turn on your Pathfinder. In the Activity Row select the TOOLS Activity and choose COMPUTER ON.

2. Information from your Pathfinder will now be sent out to the computer. If you open up a Word Processing document, you will be able to use it.

3. Choosing COMPUTER OFF will close down the link.
